Step into a welcoming oasis of style, sip a boutique wine, and peruse unique treasures all in the heart of downtown Cocoa Beach. Ginger, Grapefruit & Rosemary or GG&R, as it is fondly referred to, is boho chic with a swirl of wine. Owner, Kate Vinson, has created a sophisticated and warm store that showcases her eye for style and distinctive pieces that she carefully curates from around the world.

Wishing for a new date night look in the form of a flowy dress or a colorful embroidered top? Need some handmade jewelry or bold accessories for a ladies’ get together or a gift? Look no further than GG&R, the store that infuses Cocoa Beach with clothes, accessories, and home décor that calls out to the inner goddess in you, that free spirit waiting to be unleashed.

Located next door to Twin Finnegan’s, Kate’s shop is one of those rare places that makes you feel at home from the moment you open the door. Elegance is on display, where everything — from the chandeliers and string lights creating a warm ambiance, the rugs, pillows, and vintage furniture, to the jewelry, clothes, wine, and even the art on the walls — is a testament to Kate’s thoughtfulness and polished taste. It’s no wonder, since she studied apparel design in school and worked on the merchandising side of things back in Oregon. There are dainty bracelets made for getting wet, perfect for surfers and beachgoers; hand-painted oyster shells, ideal for décor or jewelry trays; goat’s milk soap in an array of scents; neoprene bags with interchangeable straps; and clothes that can be mixed and matched to create both relaxed and dressed up looks. Pieces are chosen with the utmost consideration based on a reasonable price point, or featuring a local artist, a sustainable fabric, or a wine that has been family owned for generations.

Where does the wine fit in? Originally, Kate was offering a glass of wine as a fun perk when shopping and to add the social element at GG&R. When the pandemic hit, she found a way to pivot by holding virtual wine tastings, even personally delivering the wine flights! Plus, she designed her own wooden wine flight holders, bringing panache to the entire experience.

Now, GG&R has expanded to include interesting bottles of wine in all different varietals from around the world and has started doing in-person wine tastings for $20 for a flight of five wines. Private tastings are also available for $35 per person, which make great birthday or date night surprises. Become a sommelier for a night and see, swirl, sniff, sip, and savor an evening of wine and camaraderie. Kate’s passion for finding the perfect pieces and for engaging with the community has made GG&R the place to be.

Follow GG&R on social media at: facebook.com/GGandR and Instagram @GGandR, to find out about the next tastings and events.
